[Today was the day that Maki was to come to the Orb Union as part of a series of concerts for the troops. The other girls were going to other parts of the world, so she was coming by herself for this set of concerts.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Athrun was asked to be her liaison. At surface level, it would seem odd to ask someone with a commander's rank to serve in such a capacity when surely a lower-rank soldier would suffice. But Athrun has experience working with idol singers in the past -- and he happens to be close to Maki's age, albeit a couple of years older.

So, when Maki disembarks from her plane, Athrun is standing there in the terminal, sticking out due to his uniform. That and the fact that he's a famous war hero. When he spots her, he approaches, a polite smile etched on his face.]

It's nice to finally meet you, Maki. I'm Commander Athrun Zala, here at your service. It'll be my job to make sure you settle in all right while you're here.

[It's a first meeting, so he's going to be more formal, more stiff than he usually is. Hopefully she can get him to loosen up a bit? A certain few officers at military HQ certainly hope so...]

[ Much to his dismay, Takuya's fireballs had thrown off course right towards the Avatar. Great job Takuya, only a day in this world and he was already trying to burn someone to a crisp real smooth. Though then again he was new to this firebending thing. It was easier when he was a Digimon, but as a human, not so much.

In his haste, he wanted to try feeling the fire in his fingertips once more, but ended up losing control. He cursed to himself for potentially wounding the other having flashbacks to the past where he lost control and nearly burned a forest and his friends.

Takuya ran over to the other making sure that they were alright with his hands shaking with regret. ]
